Why do you think people play video games to have fun, to relax well that’s somewhat true but people also play games to get some challenges in their life and that’s why here are the Top 10 Hardest/Toughest Video Games that make you Frustrate.
This is not my personal list. I have searched many other sources and made this list based on that for you guys. Later tell me what you have already played or if you get something new to play from this list.
10. Flappy bird
Basic Story Premise
The game is simple with a side-scroller where the player controls a bird, attempting to fly between columns of green pipes without hitting them and trying to reach the end of each level.
Why is it hard?
Flappy Bird is difficult. It can take multiple attempts to get a score higher than one; anything over 10 marks you as a flapping genius. This was one of the most annoying games that I played on my phone.
I played it while I was traveling via train and I was so irritated because I was not able to go beyond that 15-point mark. Yeah, you can laugh at me now.
But this is just the beginning and it will get worse from here on.
9. Returnal
Basic Story Premise
After crash-landing on this shape-shifting world, Selene must search through the barren landscape of an ancient civilization for her escape. Isolated and alone, she finds herself fighting tooth and nail for survival. Again and again, she’s defeated – forced to restart her journey every time she dies.
Through relentless roguelike gameplay, you’ll discover that just as the planet changes with every cycle, so do the items at your disposal. Every loop offers new combinations, forcing you to push your boundaries and approach combat with a different strategy each time.
Why is it hard?
Returnal is inarguably a difficult game it all happens because they force you to repeat everything upon death. Such things happen in almost all hard games. But RETURNAL makes it more difficult and the player dies quite often. With all that frustration unlike the Soulsborne games, where enemies were static in their areas, everything is randomized here which makes it more annoying.
8. Ninja Gaiden
Basic Story Premise
The story follows a ninja named Ryu Hayabusa as he journeys to America to avenge his murdered father. There, he learns that a person named “the Jaquio” plans to take control of the world by unleashing an ancient demon through the power contained in two statues.
Why is it hard?
Ninja Gaiden is a fast-paced action game with relentless enemies all over you. Defeating all of them means continuous precise attacks as well as perfect blocking and parrying. It is infamous for its extremely difficult boss fights that would make the bosses of Dark Souls do in their game.
7. Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening
Basic Story Premise
Dante’s past is now revealed as Devil May Cry returns to its roots. Master Dante’s multiple fighting styles while battling never before seen demons and new characters as you fight your way toward a brutal confrontation with Dante’s mysterious twin brother, Vergil.
Why is it hard?
It is said to be the most difficult game in the Devil May Cry series. The original release is also regarded as one of the most difficult games of all time. Enemies and Bosses generally get tougher while the player gets weaker as the difficulty increases. You need to continuously grind on the same level so that you can match up with the upcoming bosses.
6. Cuphead
Basic Story Premise
Cuphead is a classic run-and-gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand-drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.
Why is it hard?
It’s as hard because you will have to learn each boss’s patterns and if forget it once and you are done for. It is not just on that but no boss is going to have the same pattern again in the game. In short, every boss will be unique, and to add more difficulty there will be phases for each boss and you will not know when it changes its phases. If you think that yes, this boss, I defeated his third phase and it was the same for the previous boss then, No. This new boss will have 5 or 6 phases which will completely surprise you.
3. Pokemon Colosseum
Basic Story Premise
The player is tracking down the creators of “Shadow Pokémon”, Pokémon that have had their hearts turned to evil. You catch them and battle with them to make them good again.
Why is it hard?
In terms of difficulty, it became more along the lines of cheating, such as bosses having 7 Pokemon and Shadow Moves (several new moves were added but many trainers would have 2 or more Shadow Pokemon on one team so it got tiring quickly) being super effective against standard Pokemon.
4. Elden Ring
Basic Story Premise
Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a fictional landmass ruled over by several demigods. It was previously ruled over by the immortal Queen Marika, who acted as keeper of the Elden Ring, a powerful force that manifested as the physical concept of order.
Why is it hard?
It is safe to say that Elden Ring is a tough game. Demons frequently ambushing you and enemies that can one-shot kill you it makes the first few hours very difficult to pass.
Elden Ring can require a lot of focus and endurance to make a chain of moves to win a battle. Understanding making a build according to your preferences like a bulky warrior, magic based, etc.
With that being said. Many gamers say that the side bosses of the game are more difficult than the actual story bosses. And the last boss the Elden Beast and last enemy Malenia are just there to annoy the hell out of you.
3. NIOH
Basic Story Premise
In the age of samurai, a lone traveler lands on the shores of Japan. He must fight his way through the vicious warriors and supernatural Yokai that infest the land in order to find that which he seeks.
Why is it hard?
However, combat and gameplay mechanics make the series a much tougher experience than Dark Souls. Early-game enemies have high health pools that take patience to whittle down, and many enemies can one-shot players who aren’t staying on their toes.
I have watched many streamers curse like no other while playing this game but after killing the bosses they show their aggression and satisfaction.
2. Dark Souls
Basic Story Premise
The games take place within a dark, medieval fantasy setting, where the player’s character fights against knights, dragons, phantoms, demons, and other monstrous or supernatural entities.
The Dark Souls games are played in a third-person perspective and focus on exploring interconnected environments while fighting enemies with weapons and magic. Players battle bosses to progress through the story while interacting with NPCs (non-playable characters).
Why is it hard?
Dark Souls whole series just punishes any new player who is not used to such games as fiercely as possible but also rewards it greatly too.
With challenges for players around every corner and enemies who are there to one-shot you and some enemies in the game just to annoy you. Dark Souls is also difficult because it changes the way you play action games.
1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Basic Story Premise
The game follows a shinobi known as Wolf, who attempts to take revenge on a samurai clan that attacked him and kidnapped his lord.
Killing enemies who annoy you and beating the tough bosses basically one of the hardest games and also one of the best games for many gamers.
Why is it hard?
Sekiro is a game that requires exquisitely timed sword attacks, parries, and deflections against an array of staggeringly powerful enemies. Everything happens much faster than you anticipate.
You lose progress when you die. The bosses’ attacks don’t make them vulnerable to counterattack so easily after deflection. You have so few healing items. With all of this, the battle happens at a fast pace so a single error can just ruin your whole gameplay.
